HEART OF A SOLDIER

A man of just standing with a heart of a soldier

Like an old sad raven with a heart that’s older

Standing upon the cliff of life and fading

Hoping for a better day and waiting

But he's been waiting too long for the sun to rise

So he spreads his wings taking his chances and fly's

Flying over a sea of doubts into the darkness of the night

Like a lone soldier giving his all in a lost fight

And a tear comes out of his pain and falls through the rain

As he swears that no other tear will ever fall again

A promise that he will keep till the day of his death

A promise that he took since the day of his birth

Flying over a sea of pain under a black moon

Facing life's agony and its cold wind of doom

Tiered and lost but still chasing his dreams

Breaking the night and breaking my heart as he screams

That raven is flying inside of my heart and soul

He will keep on flying as I promise not to fall

His dark color will keep on shining in the darkness

The darkness of my soul that's drowning in life's sadness
