Real Life

by sillylittlegirl   Sep 7, 2005

Everyone who reads this
run these thoughts through your mind
everything in this poem
is a part of a real life

everyone that you care about
will eventually die
your best friend might walk away drunk
in the middle of the night

you could say you hated someone close to you
and they might pass away the next day
your mom and dad might get drunk every night
and don't always watch the things they say

someone your very close to could die
without ever being saved
you might never see your children again
and they had only went out to play

you go to a party
just for the day
some guy who was there
stole your innocence away

your dad hit you really hard
and left a real big bruise
your mom and dad split up
forcing you to choose

you can't always be strong
and keep everything in
you have to let it out sometime
before the healing can begin

the truth about everything is
life can be tough
quit carrying everything on your shoulders
for one person that's just too much

don't ever say you hate someone
because it may be your last
don't ever slam a door
because you may want to come back

don't ever say you're worthless
because you are lived
every once in a while someone needs
to say "I've had enough"

of course you might have had a hard life
but that's what makes you tough
this life is the real life
it's either pain, hope, or love

This poem is amazing. And so true I always keep those things in mind when I say goodbye to someone even if i hate them or even if they r just going down to the corner store i awlays make sure to tell the ones i do that I love them and your poem reminds peoeple of this, that when someone walks out the door, then might never come back. 5/5
