Beating These Thoughts

by Renee   Sep 7, 2005

This pounding stress is getting to me
visions of you on my mind, constantly
you and your other love, your second half
but with a single *boom* and you're gone in a flash.

The deep-voiced guitar sets a tone in my head
my hands flick violently, as if any second I'll drop dead
my foot taps to the hook of these catchy lyrics
those enticing visions are lost for all of five minutes.

My face feels the enclosure of heat
my arms beat stronger, but my heart is so weak
legs cramping, but I keep up my pace
drumming away the fantasies of your sweet taste.

My hair is a mess, it's dripping with sweat
These tortured thoughts are timeless, but that's five minutes less.
I breathe a sigh of releif mixed with exhaustion
Maybe now I can sleep without thinking of you so often.
