Bloodlust

by Tom Watkins   Sep 7, 2005

His name was Necromobius,
A demon from the blackest pit.
Cast out along with Lucifer,
To God’s law, he would not submit.

He took many human women,
To corrupt the bloodline of man.
But God’s Devine intervention,
Brought ruin down upon his plan.

His offspring could not reproduce,
And they died as they came of age.
So he vowed vengeance on mankind,
They’d feel the fury of his rage.

Using the darkest of magic,
Under Lucifer’s protection,
He brought his children back to life,
Through a spell of resurrection.

But they weren’t as they were before,
Creatures with hearts as black as coal.
Filled with demonic enchantment,
In the place of a human soul.

And within them was a hunger,
A pain that left their bodies wrenched.
They were driven by their bloodlust,
A vile thirst that could not be quenched.

They are creatures of the darkness,
Who cannot survive in the light.
Cursed to feed on innocent blood,
Victims who dare to walk the night.

There are those who idolize them,
Obsessed with their demonic fire.
Sometimes they live the fantasy,
Themselves, becoming a vampire.

But the soul departs the body,
At the moment of one’s demise.
All that you are is then destroyed,
Leaving a demon to arise.

They rarely ever reproduce,
Unless one of their own is slain.
They prefer to go unnoticed,
While the world remains man’s domain.

So they stay within the shadows,
Even hunting non-human prey.
Often call the Chupacabras,
An urban legend to this day.

Some believe they are fairytales,
For their legend is quite abstract.
But even legends such as these,
Are often loosely based on fact.

So if you desire to meet one,
If they are something you admire,
Understand what you’re wishing for,
Is not some Hollywood vampire.

When the sunlight no longer shines,
And into darkness we are thrust,
Perhaps you’ll meet one face to face,
While satisfying its bloodlust.

Maybe they will use your body
Another demon poised to feed.
That’s when the slaughter will begin,
That’s when the human race will bleed.
