Numb

by Marissa Cabot   Sep 7, 2005

I hear their words
"I've become so numb,"
I can't feel them there
It just goes on forever,
Endless mind games and torture
Hurts felt just like no other.

And like the chorus goes,
"Become so tired; So much more aware,"
I haven't slept in nights, aware to movements unlike those
Of the night to which
I refuse to surrender Myself to
And sink into it's depths until I am devoured whole.

Call me paranoid, uptight or bluntly a freak,
But I see past that inky darkness,
The answers that I seek
And so when they ask me
How I truly feel,
I will reply - eyes empty, expression bare:
"I have become so numb - I can't feel you there"
