On April 10, 1922,
Down from heaven, an angel flew.
A true blessing from above,
A symbol of Champion and Sarah love.
Rufus Bud Wilson, Born to be,
A friend, a guardian, a guide for me.
Many years came to pass,
As railroad work was his task.
Then on March 7, 1942,
To Mary Louise Heeter he said,I do.
When we entered World War 2,
As a paratrooper, he defended the Red, White, and Blue.
He returned with triumphant victory,
Heres another part of Wilson history,
Because of Rufus and Marys love,
Came to them 3 blessings from above.
As the Wilson sons they were famed,
Harold, David, and Clifton theyd been named.
In Valparaiso he did dwell,
With the family hed never sell.
But he had a habit, as fatal as a knife,
That would eventually take his life.
Despite this habit, he continued to be blessed,
With the addition of more to his nest.
Among these was the Risner family,
Which included MomRisner Sister, brother and Me.
Many good times we did share,
He took me to Kentucky, and to the Porter County Fair.
Through these times he was my friend,
But alas, it came to an end.
On April 30, 1993,
He left this earth, away from me.
Though it has been 13 years hes been gone,
His memory will forever live on.
Rufus Bud Wilson, forever will be,
A guardian angel just for me.
