Heartbeats

by Bill Turner   Sep 10, 2005

My heart beats just for you
I lived my life with a flat line
Now those days are through
You saved me from a life far from fine

I walked amongst the dead
Death hung like a specter in the air
Dark thoughts filled my head
No will to live, I just did not care

When I think of your beauty and grace
My heart pounds within my chest
When I think of the love radiating from your face
I know that I am loved by the best

The feelings you inspire in me
Come directly from my heart
You have set me free
Knowing we will never part

Put your hand on my chest
That heartbeat is just for you
Everyday you will get my best
This my love is my promise to you

That heartbeat is just for you...... that is my favorite line. I love the words you use in this write. You are both so lucky to have found each other. Beautiful Bill, simply beautiful.

Awww this was a beautifl dedication to the one you love!! I'm sure she loves these peices just as much as I do!! I loved the last stanza way to end the poem!! It truly was amazing and your right when you said you don't know how to write a poem without writing from the heart!!
    With Love and a 5,
