Where I'm From

by ThugPoet   Sep 10, 2005

Impurities, insecurities, lour me into a state of unsurity,
So in Love I couldn't see past You and me,
So new to me, I was too innocent to comprehend,
See I've been hurt before, but never to this extent,
I still believe in Love, but I'm hesitant to give in,
Its left my soul desolate, a hard place for my heart to live in,
All is forgiven, and the past remains just that,
Although I've tried to move on, its hard not to look back ...

I'm just a poet,
a thug with a soft heart, too afraid too show it,
So who I am is in verses,
my blessings and my curses,
my pleasure and my pain,
my losses and my gains,
sometimes I cant explain it, and my pen writes on its own,
even though I know its not true, I feel so alone,
I need someone to hold me, console me, when we're alone, kiss me holding me closely, Loving me slowly,
Some people are phony, and I'm as real as they come,
I write from my heart, because thats where I'm from.
