Trust

by katie!   Sep 11, 2005

Years have passed how the world has changed
Nobody caring, as nobody is the same
Once upon a time you confided in me
Yet now it is left for me to work out and see

Perhaps I have changed to something I was not
Everyone else has something that I haven't got
Secrets drift gently like a web on the breeze
Giving everyone but me a twisted kind of ease

Whispers and laughter stroll just out of view
Blame falls upon me for stealing you
For it is easier to blame those whom you never liked
Hatred falls so simply upon each sugar coated lie

Trust, something in which people no longer place
Thick skinned, I am used to being the only disgrace
It is my fault for taking her away from you
Did you ever stop to think she wanted to go too?

Rumours fall on ears of all those present but me
Oblivious to everything, not allowed to see
Discussions where I must not include myself
Reflecting within reason no gossip to help

If only I could bring myself to have redemption
Trust may fall upon my kind intentions
Oh my darling why aren't they all like you
One day perhaps people will be honest and true

"Whispers and laughter stroll just out of view

For it is easier to blame those whom you never liked
Hatred falls so simply upon each sugar coated lie" love those lines! this poem is sad but greatly writen! which is no surprise coming from a great poet like your self. you could write about almost any topic and make it good and i can't say that about many poets! the only thing is at the beginning you repeat "I" kind of a lot but it thined out as the poem went on. beautiful job though! sorry for the kind of short comment but i have to leave to go somewhere.
