Brave

by k i k i   Sep 12, 2005

Dark hair tied back from her face,
Trembling in the darkness.
She cries for help, anyone,
Just to free her from being alone.
Loved ones taken, so close,
But she has a chance to live.

From home to another,
Taken away once again.
No place now seems like home,
And she has no family, only on screen.
Tucked in bed, she dreams that she will
Go back to where she came from, no hope.

Too young to notice the difference
Of black and white, still she knows.
Sickened of disease, she was let out,
To free the country, start again.
Strangers taken her in,
A new formed family who cares.

She’s like her mother, brave.
