The Chain that binds

by Robert S. Velez   Sep 12, 2005

A whisper runs through out the night
Telling stories of strength and might
The tales it tells are of purest conviction
The people who hear it perceive it as fiction

The story is extraordinary and beyond mysterious
But living this story will leave you cold and serious
The story of a search for peace and quite
But who would read that? Who would buy it?

Lost in a world that is cold and violent
Dignity taken away and told to be silent
Motionless, there is no more breathe
Stillness, there is nothing but death

Walking down the street seeing people crying
Walking to my home seeing people dying
These images are far too real
It makes living lose all its zeal

The passion comes from the fire inside
Even though I thought the fury had died
My passion is growing to tell you this life
Of the pain, torment and strife

I share with you the reality of what I see
So do you ever think what its like to be me?
Or maybe someone that is close to you
Could you ever understand what we've all been through?

I think not!

A good poem with some ideas that have been experimented with and deeply explored. Some great writing! An idea maybe is to cal it 'stories' or 'life' or 'painful reality' i don't know, just some ideas. Take Care and Keep Writing!
