Why

Why do we open our hearts to the pain
And hurt ourselves so much
Why do we care so much about others
And want to feel their touch

Why do we allow ourselves to hurt
And not even say a thing
Why do we continue on in this life
And know only pain it will bring

Why do we not say a thing
And make everything so much worse
Why do we allow this constant pain
And wish that it would reverse

Why do we try to love at all
And open our hearts to the pain
Why do we need to care so much
And hurt while the silence remains

Why do we keep filling this hole
And fill it with nothing but air
Why do we keep our problems to ourselves
And let the others heart tear

Why do we allow this constant hurt
And call this something good
Why do we stay in our own little worlds
And always stay misunderstood
