Remember how we used to be,
So wrapped up in each others charms
Remember how we used to be,
Held tight in each others arms.

Walking down the street together
People stopped to stare,
So different from another
But we never seemed to care

So happy being together,
We were always full of laughs
What happened to these memories
They didn't seem to last

You promised we would always be together
You would never leave my side,
We saw each other less and less
And only spoke from time to time

We both had very different life's
And unique in our own way
You said you were leaving me
To join the army is what you'd say

I sat at night for weeks on end
Crying my self to sleep
There was not a day went by
When I didn't sit and weep

I thought we'd be together
I believed my hopes and dreams
I thought we were so happy
Me you'd never deceive

But now that I have realized
And I have started to see
8 months of love and happiness,
But we were not meant to be
