Heavens just too far ©

(Child rings operator)

Little girl:
Hello operator
Can you help me please
You see I miss my daddy
He said he'd be back for tea

Can you give me a number
So I can ask him how he's been
You see I am very worried
For my daddy's not been seen

He said he'd be back before my birthday
But you see that was months ago
Mummy said he's left us
And gone somewhere i don't know

Oh please operator
Can you give me number 9?
Because maybe if I ring that number
I can ask daddy if he's fine

Please I miss my daddy
I need him by my side
Mummy said he won't come back
He's left us far behind

Operator could you please
Give me heavens number
Daddy was a fireman
He left when I was younger

But please could you help me
Because heavens just too far
I cannot walk all that way
My little legs can't walk into the stars

Oh please operator
Is my daddy coming home
Mummy's in the kitchen
She doesn't know I'm on the phone

Is my daddy coming back
Or has he gone for good?
Will you give him a message
That Mummy's misunderstood

I know I'll see him one day
And I know he's happy for now
But please operator
Can you tell me how?

How can I find my daddy
He's far away from me
How can he live in the stars
When he should be here with me

What's wrong operator
Why do you sound upset?
Is it because I'm on the phone
And you can't speak to your friends?

Oh please operator
I love my daddy so
I cannot be without him
But now I have to go

I'm going seeing Mummy
And asking for her time
I want to go to heaven
To prove that my daddy's fine

So goodbye operator
Now you can talk to your friends
I'm going looking for my daddy
Because in me he does depend

OMG. That was sad. I'm speechless because that is every little kids reaction and you just put it into words. That was good. - YM
