Waters Rising

by mookoo   Sep 14, 2005

Waters rising,
up past my ankles,
my knees,
down it beckons and pulls,

trying to devour me,
engulfing me in the abyss,
up it stretches to my waist,
beckoning me into its eternal bliss,

crawling to my shoulders,
to safety I must soon swim,
staying here was idiotic,
a stupid whim,

if they dont help me soon,
Ill have run outta luck,
stuck in a tomb,
made of water and muck,

the mud slowly rises above my head,
I can barely move my arms to float,
breathing in the muck,
as it slides down my throat,

I cant find any more air,
no longer can I swim,
I cant see any more light,
its so very dim,

its becoming clearer now,
flying with these angel wings,
feeling the sadness and sorrow,
an old mortal life brings.
