Colours of autumn

by sameeha abdulnasir   Sep 16, 2005

Autumn came in my front door
bringing colors I adore.
The summer then said goodbye,
under a blue and cobalt sky.

Oak trees in shimmering gold
added warmth to days grown cold.
Pumpkins piled up in a heap
dressed in orange, ready to reap.

Autumn flames burned crimson red
showing maples jeweled spread.
Wild grapes in purple and green,
danced on vines, fit for a queen.

October's voice could be heard
with the sounds of singing birds.
Fingers of frost in icy white
made fall's picture a pretty sight!

Autumn's colors, skies and trees
invited me to play in her leaves.
I'll miss the Summer's golden sun
but Autumn's days are more fun!
