Shatter

by BreatheNoMore   Sep 16, 2005

Collapsing in slow motion
Extending my body until my head disappears
While droning music plays as a lullaby
Exchanging lint for lachrymose fears

Weaker, I am your smiling porcelain doll
Appreciated for the company and the good looks I display
But when I fall and can't fit back together
It is inevitable that I ought to be thrown away

High notes of worthless desires draw the line
Between why I am still existing
And why I am always dying

Crashing over backwards
Absorbing impact I am the ladder reminding the wall
That it remains because it hasn't the control-but really all it takes
Is one clumsy person to provoke such a rigid object to fall

Making friends with the broken life that is swept
Below the furniture and underneath the drapes
And it always comes as a surprise
What a mess one shattered plate can make
