Mind of an Aghast Child

by LadyPearl   Sep 17, 2005

Child born and shadows rise
Home of secrets and despised
Every turn is his mistake
dreams of fire upon bloodly stakes

Given the gift of the past
horrors of humans still to last
swords and arrows pounds a heart
marriages or pain drifting apart

Young bright women brought to trial
accused of a witches vile
Knowledge that was in their mind
something people just couldn't find

Screams of victims caught in war
the sick and dying covered in sores
children white like their bones
faces like old empty stones

Secret cry inside one's feelings
tears of shame from all the teasing
misunderstood came the world
not listening to a single word
