To My Unborn Child

To my Unborn child, I'm smiling as i type this for you
Here are some things in your life that you will have to go through
I'll explain them all word by word, for i will have been far gone
but before i sadden you with my passing away, I'll start at one.

For if you're a boy, I'll tell you from a mans knowing all
you are supposed to take the world, and manage to fall.
You have to care, but don't show it all too much
because every girl will want your heart, and your touch.

A girl can break you, but only because she can
you'll be somewhat broken, when you become a man.
A girl will love you in some ways which can't be found
and you must respect her, and never ever mess her around.

Son, sometimes when growing up, you'll feel pain
but it's all part of your youth, and young you shall remain.
Be loyal to the people you love, for they are there for you
show them that you appreciate them, say you love them too.

take care of your mother, as she's been through alot
i seldom told her i loved her, so i think she forgot.
Appreciate love, because it's very hard to find,
and i want you to know, I'm so happy to know that you're mine.

If i got it wrong, and you happen to be a girl,
I'll tell you things, which your mother may have told you herself.
You are everything wonderful, beautiful and smart
and let no person ever let you fall apart.

You will be loved by a boy who will in the end hurt
but remember, not all boys treat girls like dirt.
Try not too be broken by little things people will say,
they are only jealous, because you blow them all away.

Life can be hard baby girl, i felt the pain and so will you
it comes down firm, and it brings your heart down too.
Don't rush to the conclusion that life should just end,
you'll find that hurt wont stay long, and pain will mend.

So, here you are my little girl, i hope this helps you in life
maybe I've made you avoid a little heartache and strife.
Be kind to all who treat you good, for they deserve your love
and remember i will always be watching you lady, up in the clouds above.
