Hero Within My Eyes

He holds his head up tall and high
Pride, courage and determination within his eyes

His fears pushed back, away and deep as he prays to for his soul to keep

He takes a stance on the battlefield in this cold, dark war
His faith true to his country blue his strength alive but his conscience no more

He's a warrior of God, a solider to his nation
A defender of freedom, nothing can take that away from him

He's a hope for a brighter tomorrow, a glorious future
A hope to end this suffering, to end this brutal torture

This soldier is a hero within my eyes, an angel of hope, and my keeper of the night. Forever and always will he have my respect, and forever and always he will be the hero within my eyes.
