The Little Boy and Girl

A little boy
and a little girl
were walking down the street
without a care in the world

A car went by
and the little girl screamed
the little boy was dead
nobody else had seen

the little girl sat
in the street all night
with the little boy
until she saw two bright lights

the car was coming faster now
swerving all over the road
she knew that she should move
but she wouldn't leave the boy alone

the driver was drunk
and didn't know what he hit
so he drove away
and left the two dead kids

The little boy
and the little girl
are now buried beside each other
in a better world
