I have never felt the pain
of an imaginary hand
Squeezing tightly on my heart
like a strong elastic band.
I have never known the ache
of a loved one far away
And waiting by the telephone
just to hear what she will say.

I have never known a day
which seemed so much like a week
I can't recall a time when
so many tears have stained my cheek.
I have never known occasions
when my food would make me choke
And to finish every morsel
would only make me boke.

I have never had such feelings
of unhappiness and gloom
Coupled with such joy that for else
there is no more room.
It is a weird sensation
and hard to understand
You'd know it if you'd found the one
- but cannot have her hand.

I have never in a day
made so many painful sighs
When I think of happy moments spent
- but then to realise
That the one I'm always thinking on
and wishing could be mine
May never be beside me
for a very long long time.

I have never had such longing
just to up and run away
To a far deserted island
with my lover there to stay.
I have never had a time
when my heart has ached so sore
I have never, I HAVE NEVER,
BEEN IN LOVE BEFORE!"
