Salvation

by sameeha abdulnasir   Sep 19, 2005

Imprisoned by restrictions
My spirit in peril
Eluding reality becomes
a welcome contemplation

Take me to aversion
a place of liberating freedom
My desire is strong
Your adoration allures me

For a mere moment
I experience acceptance
In a world of disbelief
Which wears garments
Of skepticism and distrust

A natural form of strategy
In the warfare of everyday life
Avert me from myself
Disarm my self mutilating ways
Of insecurity and introversion

Accept what is beneath the mask
Placed there by cynicism
Your love removes the armor
Over my wounded heart
Tearing down the walls of
Preconceived notions

Unconditional love distinguishes
A plethora of broken dreams
Promising a future of hopefulness
Your love redeems my very being
Emancipate me
from what confines.
