The Symbol

by Bruce Gould   Sep 21, 2005

Just a little symbol,
But its power is out-of-this-world.
With pride,
I bare the cross on my back.

With-out being worthy,
I wear His symbol.
I wear it in falsehood,
I am not what he wants me to be.

I read the Bible,
Believing every thing it says.
I still can't follow His rules,
Still not strong enough to escape my past.

Up's and down's,
Back and Forth.
I can't seem to stay,
In His holiness.

Striving to be what He wants me to be,
Is what I'll continue to do.
Till the day that I can bare,
His symbol in worthiness.
