Lost

A lost soul that no one ever knew existed

Only one person ever listened to what she had to say

The scars on her wrist will be with her for the rest of her life

The scars show the truth behind that smiling face

She sat at the computer wasting her life away

Feeling so sorry for herself she forgot what mattered the most

If only they had seen how much pain she was really in

Maybe they could have saved her from herself

She cried herself to sleep she awoke each morning sadly

A soul so tired of pretending, a soul so tired of hiding

It’s like pretending to be something your not for your whole life

She could only take so much before she snapped

Bleeding and crying she had no where to turn

Maybe they should have just accepted her for herself

If only they knew the tears she cried at night

Was because of things they said to her that day

She is tired of pretending, she only wants to be accepted

Behind her smile there is the truth that goes untold
