When we were young the world was so kind
There were good people and bad people,
Happy people and sad people.
Black people and white people
Now there is a whole rainbow of people
Just dealing with the shit life gives
Trying not to forget why we live,
And remembering to always forgive.
But I do not know how to be human
I cannot take the shit life gives
I forgot why I live
I do not know how to properly forgive
Because my heart throb will always come back
I do not look to brighter days
My pain will not let me fly away
Should I leave or should I stay?
A fake personality is what I display
Hopeful survivors believe what I say
I am sorry if I led you astray
But I am not one to drop to my knees and pray.
Since I cannot forgive, please forgive me
I am not who I wanted to be
