The Final Kiss

by Prince Enigma   Sep 22, 2005

Pushing away the cobwebs, blowing away the dust
Remarkable memories of the unforgettable bedroom
My head swirling with thoughts as I uncover it
The air immerses with the scent of her perfume...

In my very hands is the portrait of my love
I place the picture down, gazing into her mirror
The music box begins to play our childhood song
I start to feel an unknown presence getting nearer...

Curtains closed, windows shut, door half open
Not a person in sight, steadily I turn around
With an eerie chill, a ghostly touch taps my shoulder
My heart fills with fear, trying not to make a sound...

In front of me is a woman with a spectral blue glow
Wearing nothing but an angelic white wedding gown
As beautiful when we first married, the most alluring sight
I lifted her up, went toward the bed and put her down...

Caressing her face felt so cold, like an arctic freeze
That didn't stop me from trying to kiss her
I could feel her icy breath as my lips got close
As my eyes closed she vanished into a hazy blur...

The last moment with my beloved wife
As she descends into eternal rest
Taking a part of my life
The one I loved the best...
