Just a sad, little poem

I sit and stare
With a stoic gaze
Into blank space
Imagining your face

My thoughts are not
With my revision
I'll slowly rot
In this empty prison

I count the seconds
Since we first met
Will everything end
When you have me forget?

Looking back I can see
Memories fall all over me
I ponder: Do you feel the same?
Or to you it's just another silly game?

When I really leave
Would you realize?
And then believe
That I fell for your eyes?

Would you one day
Just sit and frown
And suddenly say
To your friends around

"I think," pausing in wonder
Your friends lean closer
And you start to ponder
"I miss him," sounding unsure

I shake my head
And reassure myself
Lying on my bed
Like I was twelve

Why would a girl
Possessing such beauty
Give up the world
For a moron like me?

I sigh and finally see
And totally understand
The words of my class buddy
"She only likes you as a friend..."

I think I should
Get back to my books
Though there's no mood
It's easily understood
