A Secret Longing

by Desperation   Sep 22, 2005

My eyes drift to the right,
with little satisfaction,
I just want your eyes to drift to mine,
Like all those other times.

I can't help but want,
I can't help but need,
Why can't you see,
Your the only one for me.

I let you go ,
without thinking of the consequences,
I'm at a loss for words,
All I want is you to want me back.

I know I said some horrible things,
But it was a mistake,
The only thing I'll ever regret,
Your the only one,
The one that is always on my mind.

I know you notice,
My eyes drifting in class,
That somehow I end up next to you in the halls,
You see it I know,
You just want me to say it.

You promised me,
That we will always be friends,
But what if I told you,
That just wont work.

I've got a secret to tell,
One thats for you alone,
I want you to reach out for my hand again,
To hold me tight,
To let me cry,
To cuddle in the night.

What would you do if I said I just can't stand being friends,
That the only thing I want is to be with you again,
I want you to hold me tight,
To erase this pain,
To make these horrid thoughts leave my brain.

I need you so much more,
Than I ever though I would,
That scares me to death,
It just takes away my breath.

I didn't think it would happen,
My hearts telling me now,
You should take a bow,
Cuz baby your on the center of my stage now.
