Mom

Surrounded by sorrow
Facing your death
Through the tears
I cant catch my breath
Im focusing all my time
And my energy on you
Like when I was little
The way you used to do

We promised to be strong
But sometimes its getting hard
The sun is setting
And death lays out his cards
All that is and all that was
Has only just begun
You are my mother I love you
I am your son

The time that we are spending
Is so precious and dear
Reaching the end of the road
Is my hearts deepest fear
We will beat this together
We will stand and be true
Its just so hard
Watching the cancer
Thats consuming you

No matter what happens
Dont worry for me
The values you have taught me
Are your legacy
Dont fret that
Ive given up things
To be here for you
If the tables were turned
Its what you would do

You made the world my oyster
When I was very young
Its my turn to do that for you
Now that your time has come
I pray to god every night
To please turn this around
To make you to feel better
And for a cure to be found

    * tears *, i admire you soo much as a writer as well as a person, she would be proud of you, her son, remember her love always, with you, helping and guiding you, let me remind you again, i am here for you, in anyway i can, you have remained soo strong, remember our * smile *, with love and wishing you the best always , Ashley
