Longin to just be

by Abbie   Nov 27, 2003

Everything is so much quieter now,
The clock ticking in the hall,
The moonlight shining on the floor.
Time goes by slowly when you are gone
I dream you are here, but it doesn’t last long
The absence of your body lying next to me in bed,
The cold empty spot where you once led
A floorboard creaking, a woman weeping
Longing for the warmth only one can give
Wanting to feel your touch upon my skin
Wanting to feel you from deep within
But you are not here to console my aching needs,
Instead I rely upon my sweet memories
Until the day you return to me
With open arms and smile that’s just for me.
