Mind upon mind

Dearest forgive me as my pain does bleed
Emptying into each pen, each blank page
I am but a raven stealing scraps from the flock
An actress left lonely, residing on stage

Herein I am nothing but a candlelit fountain
As enemies fly upon winged creatures of morn
Have at my precious ruby stained shirt and pained arms
A release love, to seal my fate until the next dawn

Time slows in reason, shrouded by fear
Floating just above the lonesome river
Angels of sadness, redeem her I pray
Arrows are resting gently on a platinum quiver

Where hath the day gone, shadowed and taught
War time replenishes the bloodthirsty hounds
Happiness is nothing if not an illusion
