A tribute to Kai who left us on 11 March 2005

by gabriel   Sep 24, 2005

I haven't said much in a long, long while
Even though I keep thinking of your smile
Seems like years since I felt warm in the
snow
The quiet embrace that has left me cold

I sit on the couch facing the fireplace
Casually denying reality that's laid upon
me
Closing my eyes and imagining your
beautiful gaze
Praying for your soul wherever you may
be

I figure out a plan to call upon the stars
Maybe someday, one day they'll know
where you are
Clasping my hands and with a little sigh
A shooting star streaks across mid-
summers night sky

I always look out the window when it
rains
Thinking: someday maybe just you and I
We'll head out with our rods like little
boys once again
Just me on the boat or jetty with Kai
