Water surrounds us There's no way out No one will hear As we cry and shout Diseases and germs Infesting the water No food left to eat Weather's getting hotter After Katrina I thought we might Have a chance I thought we could fight Then along came Hurricane Rita We're sick hungry tired Water's getting deepa My baby stopped kicking After the first week My water's gonna break He'll be stillborn I'll shriek My life is slowly ending But, Lord, why This wasn't necessary Look at the tears we've cried Am I being saved Or am I really gone All I know right now That this has been no fun
