Daddy's Little Girl

by Christina   Sep 24, 2005

He worked and worked,
a back breaking job.
He tried and tried,
without a sob.

She lived and lived,
not knowing what to do,
not knowing who she was,
she simply had no clue.

He cared and cared,
with all his might.
He loved and loved,
and did all that was right.

She cried and cried,
for silly reasons,
she pitied herself,
through many seasons.

He listened and listened,
with an open ear.
He prayed and prayed,
for someone to hear.

She laughed and laughed,
for good times that were rare.
Things that now seemed like nothing,
but he was always there.

He searched and searched,
for his purpose in life.
For he had been going through
much grief and strife.

She found her way to tell him
in her own clever little way,
that without him, she would have
no reason, no life, nothing to say...

I love you daddy, and oh, right, happy 50th!!!

with all my love,
your one and only oldest daughter
