You were there

by NICKOLAS ELGERT   Sep 25, 2005

You were there

You were there when I tried weed for the first time
You were there when I made my first poem rhyme
You have been my friend
There for me when I was feeling sad
Coaching me after getting dumped
Calming me down because I was mad

You were there when my parents would fight
Yelling and screaming at each other
All through the night
And when I started high school
You were there
I didn't like you at first
I was told you were a bad influence
And there were other friends
So I thought you were the worst

It took me to sit down with you
To realize you were cool
And I was the fool
We are alot alike
I need you like you need me
When I am with you I feel better
When I am with you I work better
And without you I am a lost dog

I just wanted to say
How sorry I am
There was a day
When I said I didn't want you anymore
Women are corrupt
Women cloud the mind

One day I will die
And it will be your fault
But you will say its mine
And maybe it was
But I will be too drunk to notice
