My Gothic Valentine

by Autumn   Sep 25, 2005

Into the stone garden go
Safe haven hidden by shadow
Past a rusting iron-wrought gate
Reminders of inevitable, mortal fate
Creeping in graves where nightmares abound
In this cemetery where we won't be found.

Will you be mine?
Will you be my Gothic Valentine?

No part of me you don't know
There's nothing I've left to show
Hearts are torn by Love and Hate,
Take this for all it is, before it's too late
Don't be afraid, no one's around
It's only us by this burial mound.

Would you be mine?
Would you be my Gothic Valentine?

Here beside the funeral row
Allow our deathly love to grow
They say everything will dissolve to hate
A nasty, notorious human trait,
Let those voices be dimmed and drowned
Upon all other rules we have frowned.

Could you be mine?
Could you be my Gothic Valentine?

Feel our hearts beat strong and slow
Hear my voice speak soft and low,
Sneak past the mausoleum's iron grate
Carve our names on the tomb's granite slate,
Be silent, don't make a sound
Forever in darkness together we're bound.

Always you'll be mine,
Always, my Gothic Valentine.
