Why A Rose?

by juss an allycat   Sep 26, 2005

Why a rose to represent a love
Signature of a blood red rose
To give this to your loved one
When roses dry and die
Right before your loved's eyes
Is this not saying a goodbye?
Saying our love will die as this rose
When past it's short life
Past the moment of shine
The rose lies lonely and wrinkled
Then wind will carry it, far
You will not see it once more
Is this the message you want to give
Why a rose to represent a love?

When I think a lil harder
I finally think I know why
A rose and love are similar
Both are delicate, fragile
Both are prone to death
Unless you are committed
It takes care to keep the rose alive
To water the rose, will help it grow stronger
Live longer
With much effort comes rewards
So give everything you can give
Because a rose or love alike
Has only one chance to live

AFTERTHOUGHT: I was thinking about this poem. I think why they use such delicate objects to represent love is to test you, to see how well you can take care of these objects. when roses die, maybe this is like death, the end, evn though i am a believer that love does not end after death. the better we can take care of love, the rose, the longer it will last.
