I can do it

by midmid   Sep 26, 2005

I was walking down the road
I wasn't by my own
They said they would stay with me
Until I find my home
I couldn't see
I have had lost my sight
They said they'd never leave
And stay by my side
A heavy wind was passing by
I thought they were the best
I looked behind me, a look so shy
I couldn't find the rest
They were all gone
I was alone
The rain was strong
Falling like stones
I cried for help
No one was there
I could smell death
In the air
It was so cold
I had no shelter
To where to hide
To place to enter
I fell on my knees
Looked at the sky
Knowing that soon
I'm going to die
Under the black sky above
Away from warmth
Away from love
Away from home
As on the ground I laid
A saw a light so far
Pointing down was a ray
Of a falling star
I remembered what I heard before
That when a falling star appears
You can make a wish, I did
And away was my fear
I got on my feet
Ran as fast as I could
Down the dark and lonely valley
Through the forests, through the woods.
As I struggled against the rain
Sore and tired, crying from pain
I reached a place so familiar to me
I thought it was home, I wanted it to be
As I knocked on the door, I heard a voice from within
It said "stay out, you're no longer allowed in"
I was abandoned and the expression on my face
Was that of a lonely child lost in a maze
Again I was alone
I took a deep breath
I made a big decision
That on my own I fill fight death
I will fight life
I want to be
I want to live
I want to see
I took another path, a path so narrow
I was struggling against pain and sorrow
But that path led me to a place
A place more perfect than it seems
Then alone I have fought for days
Until I reached the land of dreams
There I have lived , thou on my own
It was my home away from home
I went in ,
I stood high and then
My senses came back to me, I could see again
