Formal Invitation

by Marisa Lishay   Sep 26, 2005

I invite you to take a walk with me,
i invite you to come and talk to me.
this is my invitation,
my formal greeting,
to a world where you can only see me.
Me, me, not what's perceived by thee.
to see what's beyond my curvetree,
so i can scream with glee,
at the thought of finding you,
the one whose love is true.
not the one whose interest gets blown away with the wind,
after he's caressed and touched my skin,
and visited the city within.
this is my invitation,
my formal greeting,
to a world where you can only see me.
Me, me, little things you can't see,
like mind, body, and the soul within me.
tiny tidbits of information you can't possibly see,
if you want to be shallow, and only look at me.
the things you say, and the things you do,
couldn't quite possible be as smooth as what you'll be allowed to.
IF you accept me invitation,
my formal greeting,
to a world where you can only see me.
