I never knew

I have known you for so long
i know everything about you,
even your favorite song
we were just friends,
but you saw something more
so without even thinking,
i showed you the door
and now i come to think of it,
you weren't truly wrong
Cos i never knew i loved you,
until you were truly gone!

    I like the flow of this poem - you'd expect it to be a happy tone, for some reason! Then bang! The sadness of regret at the end of the poem hits you. Nice one.
