If Only You Knew

by Kirsten Jones   Sep 27, 2005

So very difficult to reach the words
As true emotions remain unheard
And I have to reflect, is it really there?
Or just empty images buoyed on thin air?
But as eyes soak up all soulful musing
The heart pulls tight and aches
As skin prickles sensing you close.

So what exactly am I believing?
If it's God, sorry, I'm more of a heathen
Or perhaps I have it completely wrong
And what the mind sees is not my song
But another tale to be told
As simple meanings ebb and flow
And imagination continues to play.

The stars have already shown my hand
So dice thrown, how's it to land?
And where do we go from here?
Do we move at all or embrace the fear?
If only you knew, I'm here for you
You're within me too, if only you knew
But life is short, and so is my attent ...
