Ending with a Start

by shadow walker   Sep 28, 2005

What is it with you that ties my tongue,
clouds my thoughts and steals my time;
that makes me wait for your every word
and fall for your every line?

What magic do you wield that enables
you to touch my heart and speak to my soul?
Why is it you are there to pull me from
every ditch, every pit, and every dark infested hole?

It is you I think of when I wake,
when I lay my head down to rest at night,
and it is you I see when my dreams live,
standing before me, oh what a beautiful sight.

All I want to do is in my arms hold you
until the sun-shine behind the hill is set.
All I want to do is dance with you
around this circle the music of life has set.

You lifted from me my embracing curse,
brought me out of my beloved exile.
I think I can no longer turn tail from truth,
no longer live in this self-denial.

So, here I am, biting my lip in suspense
as I stand here placing my fear before you
With a nervous breath I speak three little words
hope you're listening, I'm saying "I Love You".

You bring joy and light to my soul,
happiness and laughter to my heart
So I ask, what better place to end
than with you in this new start.
