Night time

I made this up to sing to my children at night

The birds have all stopped singing
The sun is going down
The day is growing older
But theres no need to frown

The suns last rays are setting
As another day ends
The night will be upon us
And gone will be your friends

Swallowed by a sea of black
As the dark consumes us all
And the lights will go out
As shadows creep down the hall

The night may seem scary
But there is no need to fear
Nothings gonna hurt you
Coz mum and dad are here

So hold on little trooper
No need to hide under cover
Coz well always protect you
And the night is almost over
