When will it stop

Just names on a list
another statistic
but the nation shakes a fist
and goes ballistic

terror is in their eyes
triumph is in others
but no matter what the disguise
there's blood of our brothers

take the amount dead
its rather a large sum
so half it instead
the number will make you numb

you say taste the pain
