Dream sweet dreams

by Mark Hopwood   Oct 2, 2005

A child cries out into the night
She too feels the fear and loneliness of darkness
She hides under her blankets too scared to look into the black
Blanketing her like a forcefield to protect her when she's under attack.

She has teddies to chase the monsters away
They watch over her until the light of day
There's nothing to fear except fear itself
So dream sweet dreams and place your fear on the shelf.

They can never steal the hopes a child yields
Their world blooms like Daisy's in the imaginations field
Always seeing, always wondering. always growing as the flowers rise high
But for now dream sweet dreams, for when you wake you will hold the sky.
