Come Home To Me

by Jona   Nov 30, 2003

I sit and wait,
Worry and cry,
Wondering if you'll be the next to die.
I can't stand this feeling,
I didn't want you to go.
I just want you to come home,
Let someone else go.
Your fighting for your counrty,
And this I admire,
But I can't stand sitting home,
Alone by the fire.
It tears me apart,
Knowing how long it'll be,
Before I see you again,
Before I can hold you in my arms,
And look apon your face again.
I envy your bravery,
Your courage and strength.
But I can't stand you gone,
For a time of this length.
Your in my prairs,
And always on my mind,
So come home to me soon,
And don't leave me again,
For a long,
Long while.

About the Poem:
I wrote this poem because one of my best friend has a husband that is deployed. And she asked me to write a poem for him as if I were in her place.
