The Power of Powerlessness

by RainbowSlider   Oct 2, 2005

What is it that makes us
what we are and how are we
viewed by others?
Is it our physical features
or our sense of ourselves?
Where is the silver lining
when there are no clouds?
From whence come strength
when physical and intellect
fail us?
Walking through the night
alone in the dark
we whistle a tune.
We think of others
that we have known
who we thought were like us.
In our quiet time
we contemplate
the darkness
as we walk through it.
We find comfort
when we become one
with the darkness.
Each step takes us
closer to where
we are going.
As we become aware
of the scenery
we feel less alone
and enjoy the walk alone.
It is time for pause
and counting of our blessings.
We become one with the earth
as we walk over it
and share in the joy of creation.
We become aware that we are
a part of something much bigger
and our mind accepts that
we are not really alone.
We find a power
unexpressed but real
and some how feel bigger.

That's very interesting that this starts off almost without hope and with random questions tormenting the soul;and then suddenly hope appears and saves the day - or in this case the night. Excellent.
