In The Middle of the Night

In the middle of the night
I take my nightly midnight walk
Oh how many times I looked down upon the lake so pure that I just want to take flight
Escape from the past and the future
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
I walk through my dreams
They seem so real
But its nothing but a thought
In the middle of the night
I lay awake
Sitting up in my bed
Thinking of the many things I've done
Very few things that are great
If only I could turn back the time and do better

I listen to the rain rapping at my window
I love watching the rain
It hides the tears as I cry and cry
I have nothing left to try
In the middle of the night
My parents are fighting outside my door
Objects being thrown
Obscene words shouted
I want to breakaway
When I said I want to take flight
I meant I want to jump off of a great hight
