I Love You,Grandma

by Avrii Monrielle   Oct 3, 2005

Grandma,
How are you?

Mamay,
Kumusta ka?

Are you okay? I miss you
I love looking at your eyes
The brown dances in and out of the blue
Grandma,I care so much about you
If only I could translate so
You would understand me
Oh grandma
Why can't I be free?
You look so wonderful when you smile
You have perfect white teeth,I haven't seen you in a while
Your smile lights up the whole room
Grandma,I'm so proud of you
You're always so happy whenever I come to visit
Sometimes it brings tears to my eyes
Other times,I don't have the guts to cry
But grandma,I just miss you so
You do not really,truly know
But grandma,you're a hero
In so many people's eyes
You won so many fights
Others wouldn't be as proud
If they knew I had such a great grandma
You helped in World War 2
If those soldiers had a chance, they'd thank you
Grandma,you were great
You thrived in politics
Graduated college before high school
Grandma
I'm just so thankful that
Not all my grandparents are dead
There's still one alive
It's you,grandma
If only I had the time
But mom doesn't have enough money
To let us visit you
I wish she'd just leave daddy
I don't know what to do
Grandma,I hate it here
I'd rather live in your town
Where not a single person
Even has to frown
Grandma,I love you
Even if you're lying on that hospital bed
Grandma,please be okay
Don't be dead
Grandma,you're strong
Live long
I love you
Grandma....

This seriously is making me cry. Why her? She was one of the most innocent people in the world. Why is she the one sick? She was so wonderful when she was young, and now people treat her like this... I miss her... I wish I could just get on a plane and see her again.

How touching is it...
when someone who has Alzheimer's says they'll never forget you?

Grandma loves me so much...
She just thinks I'm so beautiful

A lovely heartfelt poem, my thoughts are with you at this frightening time, I too am losing my grandmother to something called Motor neurons disease, so I have some knowledge of how you must feel, Keep strong for your grandmother, I am sure she would be so proud of you, you portrayed your emotions and feelings well in this poem, I see great potential in you, well done
